Baxter Estates, with its beautiful vista of Manhasset Bay, is known for its park-like setting, wooded parkland areas and the watershed Barbara Johnson Park and Preserve at Baxter's Pond which lies in the center of the village. Residents prize the village's peaceful and friendly atmosphere and its stock of oaks and other majestic trees which give the village its special character. The village was incorporated in 1931.


Leaf Removal will commence on October 31, 2016. Weather permitting, leaves will be removed on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of each week until December 7th. Place leaves at the curb or edge of your lawn for pickup. Branches must be separated from leaves, tied, and placed out for Monday. Please do not place leaves beyond curbing into the roadway. After December 7th, no leaves are allowed to be placed at curb. All leaves must be bagged for pickup by Meadow Carting on Monday, December 12th. Placing leaves in roadway after the allocated time is a violation of New York State Law and will be strictly enforced.
